As this Policy will explain more fully below (see the section captioned “Opting In and Opting Out of the Database”), we provide you with opportunities to choose to be contacted with information about Clinical Trials, and also provide you with opportunities to elect to discontinue such contacts. We refer to an election not to be contacted further or to be removed from our database, as “opting out”. We honor all choices.

In order to guarantee that our privacy policies are maintained and implemented, we have trained and familiarized our staff with these policies. Each staff member is instructed as to his or her responsibilities regarding the protection of your privacy.  All staff members with access to personal information are expected to uphold these standards.

We regularly review our Policy to ensure that it provides an appropriate level of protection for your Personal information. From time to time, we may make changes to our Policy to keep it current with industry standards. We will post the date of the most recent revisions on this page. This Policy applies to what we call “Personal information”. We define “Personal Information” as any information that could identify you or could be used to contact or locate you, such as name, phone number, e-mail address or therapeutic area of interest. To register for new studies notification, you must provide only your e-mail address. No other information is required. We do not collect any information when you email a friend within from our web site.

While no system can provide guaranteed security, we take reasonable efforts to keep information you provide to us secure, including encryption technology, and physical security at the location of the server where information is stored.

The only Personal Information about you that we collect is information that you provide. We do not have access to any of your confidential medical records and drug history. The only information about your health condition to which we ever have access is information you expressly and voluntarily provide to us, so that we can match you with an appropriate clinical trial.

We need to have your name and contact information if you are seeking to be considered for enrollment in a clinical trial. The information we seek to collect, allows us to provide you (whether you are a patient, physician, or authorized caregiver) with information that is targeted specifically to you. In the event that you would like to be considered for enrollment in a clinical trial, this information allows us to contact you regarding your eligibility for a particular clinical trial, and to inform you about specific studies that may meet your eligibility criteria.

When you register with Pharmax, you are indicating your consent to permit Pharmax to store your name in our database, and to check your personal profile against clinical trials that are currently seeking to enroll patients, some of which will be posted on the Pharmax Web site. When we find one or more studies that may be of interest to you based on the information you have provided us, we may periodically contact you using the information you have provided.

At any time, you may indicate to Pharmax that you wish to receive no communications from Pharmax. If you so indicate, Pharmax will not contact you under any circumstances except to respond to a later communication initiated by you.

Advertisements: We will not give or sell your Personal Information to any advertiser. We do not sell any products or services from our Web site. Therefore, no intermediaries such as advertisers, credit card companies, banks, distributors, etc. will be provided with your Personal Information.

Use of Intermediary: We may use the services of fulfillment partners and the U.S. Postal Service to contact you with information you have requested. The U.S. Postal Service does not store, retain or use the information in any way, and our fulfillment partners are contractually obligated to use your Personal Information only for the purpose of inserting letters or e-mails that you have opted to receive into the flow of paper or electronic mail.

Sales or transfer of Corporate Assets: We expressly reserves the right to transfer our database of information in part or as a whole to another legal entity as part of a sale or merger of all or part of Pharmax with a separate legal entity. Any entity acquiring any data assets of Pharmax will do so with the express, written commitment to use the data only for the purposes for which it was provided to Pharmax, and only after Pharmax is satisfied that the acquiring entity can and will provide at least the same level of protection to personal information as Pharmax does.

You can correct factual errors in your personally identifiable information by sending us a request that credible shows error. To protect your privacy, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identify before making any correction.

We only use Personal Information that you have voluntarily provided to us, and only if you have consented to the use. We refer to your consent to be contacted, to be included in a clinical trial, or to other use of your Personal information as “opting in”.  You may revoke your consent at any time. We refer to this as “opting out”.

The first time you provide us with information; you will have the ability to instruct us regarding other communications. For example, when you register, we will ask you if we may contact you about new studies. By opting to receive such information, you state your consent and interest in receiving them. 

If you do not wish to receive such info, you ensure that Pharmax will not contact you. You may change your contact preferences at any time you so desire, by calling us or sending an email entitled “Unsubscribe”.  Our staff will remove your information from our contact list upon receiving your request. You can make changes to any information you have given us at any time by calling us or e-mailing us. Similarly, if at any time you decide that you do not want to be contacted by us, you can call us or email us.

If we receive notification from you that you would like us to stop using your data for a particular purpose, we will follow your instructions. If you indicate that you would like us to stop using your Personal Information for any and all purposes , again, by calling us or emailing us we will delete your Personal Information from our system.

All participants in trials conducted by Pharmax are encouraged to sign up and get their current email address included in our email blast database.  It is a voluntary and extremely useful communication tool.  The news blast can be sent out on an “as needed basis”.  These blast include regular updates and information about what’s going on in Pharmax.  Our blasts are not to be used to advertise outside businesses. 

The website www.pharmaxrc.com is also a highly useful communication tool. New studies or updates to the existing ones can be posted quickly to the site, often on a daily basis.  Even if you miss the blast, you can have the information posted on the website at anytime in the Current Studies page.
